Original Thought
Today, a less than unique first Sunday of my weeklong vacation, I found myself doing more or less nothing. However, somewhere along my day of unevents for some reason I found myself think about the concept of original thought. The idea that humans are incapable of constructing a completely original thought that hasn't been a result of an outside experience isn't something I usually ponder. I'm more apt to think about what the weather is like, or what I'm going to eat for breakfast than I am to delve into concepts of immense depth. But anyways I thought about it for a while, and as ironic as it sounds, it's probably one of the most inspiring contemplations I've had in a long time. I mean if people are incapable of thinking originally, it must mean that we all have a certain capacity to achieve more or less the same things. Well, obviously that would be contingent on ambition and desire, some of which the majority of people I know lack. Sometimes I feel as though I lack them too though. It might have something to do with my general surroundings though but I won't blame anything but myself for this lack of ambition. It dies today.
